About The Position

Comprehensive Healthcare provides innovative behavioral health and integrated healthcare services to clients of all ages. We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services. Therapists on our Corrections team provide counseling and treatment services to incarcerated clients within the assigned correctional facility. The Therapist will conduct mental health assessments and offer appropriate treatment or referrals for each client in the correctional facility who has been identified as in need of behavioral health services. Counseling and skill development may be provided through individual or group sessions, depending on need. This position requires excellent listening & communication skills and a collaborative attitude to work effectively with Kittitas County Department of Corrections staff and other service partners. This position is best suited to a confident Therapist who is comfortable working in a corrections setting. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with all work to be performed within the Kittitas County Correctional Center located in Ellensburg.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and at least two years of driving experience
  • In compliance with state and federal law, Comprehensive Healthcare requires all candidates to complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Completing mental health intakes & assessments
  • Providing individual therapy and facilitating behavioral health groups
  • Collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
  • Assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • Collaborating with DOC service partners to develop treatment & discharge plans for clients and providing mental health consultations with DOC staff
  • Completing all required documentation in a timely, respectful manner
