About The Position

The Therapist provides clinical recovery-focused services to clients with mental illness and substance abuse problems, if present. Performs diagnostic assessments and formulates diagnoses. Develops individual treatment plans in conjunction with the client and members of the treatment team. Completes treatment plan updates and assessment updates. Gives clinical direction to program staff. Utilizes appropriate evidence based practices. Provides and documents appropriate services. Utilizes Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) in delivery of client services. Options provides on the job training and supervision for FIT.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a behavioral science
  • An understanding of co-occurring disorders, and related experience.
  • Must be a QMHP on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.
  • OR Meet eligibility qualifications to register with MHACBO (please visit www.mhacbo.org for more information)
  • OR Must be registered as a licensure intern with the State of Oregon or be licensed in Oregon as an LMFT, LCSW, LPC or clinical Psychologist.
  • In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, applicants for this position cannot have received services from Options for Southern Oregon within the last 12 months.
  • Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Travels between sites and is required to drive, and depending on needs of the program, may transport clients.
  • Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with substance abuse treatment for dually diagnosed clients preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
  • Bilingual skills a plus; Options pays a premium for employees who can conduct business in Spanish and provide certification of a language proficiency test approved by the Oregon Health Authority that meets a proficiency level of “Intermediate High” or “Low Intermediate+” depending on the testing site.

Responsibilities

  • Completes screenings, assessments and treatment plans, and carries out individual treatment plans for clients on their assigned caseload.
  • Clinical interventions include providing community based therapy and stabilization in community setting.
  • Services include psychotherapy, individual skills training, assistance with accessing entitlements, and crisis interventions.
  • Agency vehicles are available to transport clients as required.
  • Submits timely documentation of services provided using Electronic Health Records and collaborative documentation.
  • We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician with organizational and time management skills as well as therapeutic intervention skills.
