About The Position

Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a part-time therapist to join the Crisis Recovery Unit (CRU) team. This position is responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual, group, and family therapy, and monitoring client progress using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions. The therapist collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team, provides crisis intervention as needed, and maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards. The CRU clinician will be responsible for completing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder assessments and diagnoses as appropriate, developing individualized treatment plans, providing individual, family, and group therapy, maintaining agency standards for productivity and documentation, coordinating with other staff and community agencies, participating in regularly scheduled supervision, completing all required training, and maintaining professional and ethical standards. This specific position provides treatment to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders, provides crisis assessment and intervention when necessary, and ensures services support client stability, recovery, and functioning in the community. The Crisis Recovery Unit (CRU) provides short-term, intensive support for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis who require additional structure and stabilization but do not require inpatient hospitalization. The CRU offers a safe, supportive environment focused on helping individuals regain stability, strengthen coping and daily living skills, address immediate barriers, and successfully transition back to the community.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work or related field.
Current licensure in the state of Utah as an LCSW or equivalent (if under licensed, must work towards obtaining full licensure).
Must have relevant experience in the behavioral health field.
Experience in completing behavioral health assessments and providing clinical care.
Clinical expertise in screening, assessments, diagnosis, and crisis intervention.
Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage clients.
Considerable knowledge of trauma-informed care, including screening, assessing, and treating from a trauma-informed lens.
Good organizational and practice management skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies (such as DCFS, juvenile courts, etc.).
Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including evenings.
Must pass a Spanish assessment to be eligible for the Spanish-language incentive annual stipend.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder assessments and diagnoses as appropriate.
Develop individualized treatment plans consisting of mutually agreed-upon goals and objectives and update as needed.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning.
Maintain agency standards for productivity and documentation.
Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
Participate in regularly scheduled supervision.
Complete all required training that is assigned to this position by the defined deadlines.
Maintain professional and ethical standards.
Provide treatment to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Provide crisis assessment and intervention when necessary.
Ensure services support client stability, recovery, and functioning in the community.
