About The Position

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Behavioral Health Administration is hiring a Therapies Supervisor to join the leadership team at The Behavioral Health and Treatment Centers at Maple Lane Campus. This role involves managing a multi-disciplinary team responsible for implementing a therapeutic environment through effective management of treatment strategies. The primary responsibility will be to assist with the development and coordination of the program and to lead a team of Vocational Behavioral Health Specialist operations for the civilian population and for individuals found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI). The ideal candidate has experience leading teams, supervising professional staff, and delivering evidence-based treatment in a residential or inpatient setting, with strong clinical best practice, relationship-building skills, and the ability to remain steady under pressure. The first 90 days will focus on building a foundation and relationships within the team, programs, and legal landscape.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree involving a major study in psychology, vocational counseling, or psychiatric social work.
  • Five years of professional experience in a therapy program, including two years in administration and direction of professional staff.
  • Equivalent education/experience in a similar field.
  • A master’s degree in areas of study listed above will substitute for two years of non-administrative experience.
  • Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver's license.
  • Employees driving a privately owned vehicle on state business must have liability insurance on the privately owned vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, implement, and track residential programs.
  • Provide supervision, support, and conflict mediation to Vocational Behavioral Health Specialists.
  • Consult with clinical staff and function as a liaison in the evaluation, treatment, and management of residents.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff to assure program and resident goals are met.
  • Establishes and maintains the work schedule, authorizes routine overtime, and approves timecards and leave slips.
  • Maintains certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention facilitation.
  • Coordinates new employee orientation training for incoming staff members at peer facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
