About The Position

Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA), Office of Forensic Mental Health Services is seeking multiple experienced and motivated professionals to serve as a Psychology Associates in Spokane, WA. In this role you will be part of our program that works with enrollees in the jail who are currently awaiting competency related services (restoration and evaluation). This position will work closely with contracted providers and jail staff as part of an interdisciplinary enhanced services treatment team. You will provide individual and/or group evidence based psychotherapy, treatment planning, formulating documentation and court testimony. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in psychology social work, mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy from an accredited school
  • Registration as an WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor or professional licensure in the State of Washington.
  • Experience working with forensic and/or inpatient population
  • Formal training in evidence based modalities
  • Formal training in administering forensic and/or psychological testing

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence based therapy focused on mitigating empirically supported risk factors
  • Complete suicide risk assessments as required using violence risk assessment measures/opinions
  • Act as the liaison between DSHS/BHHA/OFMHS and patient, family, attorney, and interpreter
  • Consult with various treatment providers/staff to further insight regarding patient treatment needs/goals
  • Weekly/monthly chart note taking
  • Take a lead role in creating and implementing individual treatment plans
  • Attend meetings or trainings as needed
