About The Position

Join University Health Behavioral Health Ellington Place as a Therapeutic Support Specialist/Mental Health Technician on our weekend overnight team! Work Saturday and Sunday, 7 PM–7:30 AM, while earning both a weekend shift differential and an overnight shift differential. Enjoy full-time benefits and the option to pick up additional shifts for extra income. As a Therapeutic Support Specialist on our weekend overnight shift team, you’ll play a vital role in providing compassionate care to residents while ensuring the smooth operation of our residential care facility. This role blends meaningful client interaction with essential overnight responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to make a real difference. This role offers the opportunity to balance client interaction with independent overnight tasks, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a calm yet purposeful environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (no college degree required).
Must obtain Heartsavers CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it for continued employment.
Complete the licensure course and exam within the first 90 days of employment. Certification must remain current per the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS).
Obtain a valid Class E Missouri or Kansas driver’s license.
Must be comfortable and competent operating a 15-passenger van within 3 months of employment and obey all traffic laws while on duty.
Successfully clear the Family Care Registry background check.
Complete all required training as outlined during orientation and by leadership within established timelines for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

Personal lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use disorders is valued in our setting.
Preference for candidates with documented experience assisting patients with activities of daily living (e.g. home health or residential experience).
Prior experience in a mental health care setting is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Spend time with residents during the evening hours, providing emotional support and engaging them in light, meaningful activities to help them unwind.
Assist with administering morning medications (training provided) and ensure proper documentation.
Conduct regular rounds to monitor residents while they sleep, ensuring safety, comfort, and peace of mind throughout the night.
Complete key overnight tasks, including billing, shift reports, and documentation updates to prepare for daytime staff.
Perform light cleaning, safety checks on equipment, and other tasks to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
Coordinate and ensure all preparations are completed for a smooth handoff to the daytime team.
