About The Position

This role within Rare Blood Disorders and Oncology Patient Services focuses on providing disease and product information and ongoing support to patients and caregivers dealing with ITP, aTTP, and multiple myeloma. The Clinical Educator (CE) establishes and maintains strong relationships with clinician staff to educate them, ensuring a seamless patient experience. The CE acts as a subject matter expert on disease states, products, administration, and services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate patient access to therapy. A key aspect of this role is ensuring full compliance with all corporate and industry policies, as well as legal and regulatory requirements for all field activities.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree is required.
  • A nursing or clinical background is required.
  • Previous commercial and/or clinical experience (hospital or home health) is required.
  • Ability to meet requirements for hospital credentialling.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience with medical and pharmacy benefit products.
  • Empathetic listening skills.
  • English required.
  • Requires technical skills to effectively navigate and learn multiple complex platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% within a territory is required.
  • Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Rare Disease, Hematology/Oncology, Apheresis experience preferred.
  • Previous 3+ years account management skills and/or patient education in the pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Prior product launch experience preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educate health care providers to ensure they are well informed prior to treating prescribed patients with approved resources.
  • Educate staff on disease, product, procurement, administration and support services in accordance with approved resources post RX.
  • Develop and maintain account plans to support on-going education.
  • Utilizes CRM to manage territory and record activities.
  • Conduct educational programming with clinician staff utilizing approved resources.
  • Ensure the patient is well educated and does not face unnecessary barriers to therapy.
  • Communicate any treatment barriers to the prescriber/office staff.
  • Collaborate with field partners to reduce overall cycle time for prescribed patient starts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other field-based teams and case managers to support patient access, enrollment, and appropriate adherence to prescribed therapy.
  • Engage with ITP, aTTP and multiple myeloma patients to educate on disease and product using approved resources.
  • Conduct branded and unbranded patient education programs (live and virtually) for ITP, aTTP and multiple myeloma patients using approved resources.
  • Support appropriate on-going adherence to prescribed therapy.
  • Identify opportunities to further support the ITP, aTTP and multiple myeloma communities, including representing Sanofi at local patient events.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient engagement within the CRM system.
