Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Design therapeutic and leisure activities that support patient treatment goals
- Evaluate patient strengths and needs to guide activity planning
- Work with treatment team members to coordinate and adjust care plans
- Lead individual and group activities that promote engagement and skill building
- Record patient participation and maintain required program records
- Maintain activity areas in a safe condition and follow all hospital policies
