About The Position

Join the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs as a Therapeutic Activities Aide and help support the well-being of men and women who served our great country. This role allows you to bring energy, creativity, and compassion to daily programs and activities at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. Requirements

• Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting recreational and educational activities that support resident well-being
• Escort residents to programs, provide transportation when needed, and ensure safety during activities
• Lead or assist with group sessions such as games, crafts, outings, music, or exercise
• Support volunteers by giving clear guidance, reviewing safety practices, and helping them assist residents during activities
• Document resident attendance, behavior, incidents, and progress for supervisors and care teams
• Maintain activity supplies, select needed materials, and prepare items for scheduled programs
