The Theology Teacher actively instructs students, creates lesson plans, assigns and grades homework, manages students in the classroom, communicates with families, and helps students grow and understand their faith. This role involves teaching at grade levels from Freshmen through Senior, at both college prep and honors levels. The curriculum includes Divine Revelation, Christology, Ecclesiology, Sacraments, Morality, Catholic Social Teaching, Vocations, Apologetics, and Theology of the Body. Familiarity with Philosophy and Catholic Bioethics is preferred. The teacher will provide academic instruction by preparing lesson plans, activities, projects, and assignments that empower students to engage with course content intellectually and foster a deeper relationship with God. Demonstrates knowledge of the prescribed curriculum, current educational research, and technological tools to address diverse learning styles and achieve measurable outcomes. Establishes and maintains appropriate student supervision to ensure a safe, orderly, effective, and productive environment, upholding the school's discipline procedures. Supervises students in hallways, cafeteria, bus areas, and at special events. Organizes daily class time, develops weekly lessons with appropriate materials, and provides detailed plans for substitute teachers. Maintains fair, accurate, and timely grading policies, procedures, and attendance. Regularly checks email and updates web pages. Grades papers, assignments, and assessments promptly and accurately. Communicates regularly with students and parents about schedules, assignments, events, and individual student needs. Meets with parents during parent-teacher conferences. Evaluates student progress, maintains records, and prepares progress reports and report cards. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. Follows all school and diocese policies. Engages in professional growth, adheres to professional standards, and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment, and leadership. Cooperates and collaborates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Attends required in-service training, meetings, and workshops, as well as faculty meetings. Performs other duties assigned by the Principal.
