Pixelogic was founded in 2016 as a next-generation media supply chain provider focused on premium localization and distribution services for features and series, including marketing materials such as trailers and TV spots. The company localizes content in over 60 languages and services worldwide distribution venues and delivery formats, including support for digital cinema, physical media (DVD, Blu-ray, and Ultra HD Blu-ray), and hundreds of digital media variants. To support our growing global Digital Cinema team, the Theatrical Subtitling Operator will perform subtitle quality and technical checks, reviews, and file exports for all 2D subtitled feature and trailer content, ensuring subtitle assets meet required standards prior to mastering. The role will work closely with the 3D Subtitling team and will receive training in 3D language versioning for Digital Cinema Packages and associated downstream outputs, along with basic QC tasks. Additional responsibilities include creating subtitle outputs for downstream and social media, handling data entry related to work orders, collaborating with other departments, and providing regular feedback to the Localization and Digital Cinema Client Services teams. The ideal candidate will have previous theatrical subtitling experience and a strong understanding of technical content specifications. They should be highly motivated, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and workloads.

Requirements

  • Strong technical understanding of Digital Cinema, OTT, and Home Entertainment subtitling formats, frame rates, and aspect ratios.
  • Working knowledge of professional subtitling software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to prioritize work orders and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Willingness to learn new procedures, techniques, and responsibilities.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of theatrical subtitling experience within a Digital Cinema environment.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end theatrical and downstream subtitling workflows and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working across multiple languages and familiarity with language structures and different alphabets is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform subtitle pre-qualification for supplied subtitle files to ensure compliance with technical and client specifications.
  • QC and process theatrical subtitle files, making temporal and positional corrections according to client guidelines and procedures.
  • Create final subtitle XMLs and other deliverables for feature and trailer content across Digital Cinema, OTT, and Home Entertainment platforms.
  • Create and QC 3D stereoscopic subtitles for Digital Cinema and Home Entertainment.
  • Perform advanced manipulation of translated subtitle assets based on project and client requirements.
  • Create media and file-based subtitle proofs for client approval.
  • Complete subtitle QC reports with detailed descriptions of defects and troubleshooting notes.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of subtitle rejections.
  • Follow company security policies and protect confidential information assets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
