About The Position

The Theater Technician works as stage crew for the Medora Musical and as a general technician at the Old Town Hall Theater and Andrist Stage. The role supports theater operations, backstage tracks, scenery and props, stage maintenance, and guest service. It may also assist with concessions and retail, operate theater boards, and participate in the Medora Musical as an extra when needed. The position requires working outdoors in hot conditions at the Medora Musical, with some work inside buildings.

Requirements

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Be able to troubleshoot and create solutions as needed.
Be familiar with theater operations and terminology.
Possess critical-thinking skills.
Be fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

Previous guest service experience.
Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining, repairing, and cleaning set pieces and props as instructed by the Deck Manager and Old Town Hall Theater Manager.
Run and maintain assigned backstage tracks and swing into additional tracks as needed.
Help strike and reset props and scenery between Medora Musical performances.
Clean the stage surface daily, along with dressing rooms and other backstage spaces.
Assist with Amphitheatre concessions and retail as needed.
Set up scenery and speakers at the Andrist Stage.
Function as a board operator at the Old Town Hall Theater and Andrist Stage.
Participate in the Medora Musical as an extra when needed.
Become familiar with BHA safety procedures and protocols and participate in workplace safety meetings.
Promote event sales by providing guests with enthusiastic and accurate information.
Maintain positive relationships with guests, coworkers, and management consistent with TRMF values.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
