About The Position

This position involves organizing the set up, tear down, and maintenance of St. Olaf Theatre Department’s lighting, digital media, and audio equipment for theater productions. The role requires knowledge and skills in operating theater technology and equipment, the ability to lead a small team under tight deadlines, solve technical problems quickly in high-pressure environments, and prioritize tasks efficiently. A specific example of systems thinking includes Dante Sound System configuration and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 2 years previous experience on LSM.
• Knowledge of all St. Olaf Theater Lighting, Sound and Media facilities and equipment.
• The ability to supervise and train others in LSM Student Technician duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise other student technicians in hanging and focusing lighting equipment.
• Supervise set up and tear down of audio and media systems for each production.
• Perform maintenance on equipment independently.
• Supervise transport of equipment between theaters on multiple levels.
• Lead LSM Student Technicians in performing all duties and responsibilities and provide support and feedback.
