About The Position
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is seeking a Theater Instructor to lead music and theater classes for ages 1-18. This role involves teaching acting, dance, music, and performance skills while fostering confidence and creativity in young participants. The ideal candidate will have experience in the performing arts and a passion for mentoring young performers. Requirements
- 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill
- Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
- Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
- Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill
- Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the performing arts

Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
- Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
- Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
- Manages all equipment.
- Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
- Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
- Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
- Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
