About The Position

This is a limited-time project to assist in building the scenery for the Theater Department’s fall productions. The position is for a Student Employee (non-exempt) in the Theater Department at St. Olaf College. The wage range is $12.00-13.00/hour. The length of the position is from August 24 – 31, with work taking place weekdays from 9 am – 1 pm.

Requirements

• Must be willing to use large power tools and do heavy, physical labor.
• Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Theatrical knowledge and/or woodworking experience is helpful but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Building scenery using an assortment of power and hand tools
• Painting scenery
• Installing scenery on the Kelsey or Haugen stages
• Finding or building props as needed for department productions
• Assisting in keeping the theaters and storage areas organized
