About The Position

The costume designer will facilitate all costume needs for (1) musical and (2) non-musicals. They will collaborate with students, the Theatre Director, Properties Designer, and Theatre Technical Director in the research, creation, and implementation of Costumes.

Requirements

Bachelor's in Theater, Theatrical Design/Theater and/or previous Costume experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

Build and/or rent costumes for each production working within the designated budget.
Work with students to ensure their costume fits well & makes them comfortable/confident.
Be on-site for actor measurements, costume fittings, and all dress rehearsals.
Work with the technical director and stage crew students to organize and maintain the school's costume inventory.
Provide interested students with instruction on the basics of garment construction, tailoring, and costume design.
Collaborate with the Theatre Director on the show's aesthetics and specific costume needs inherent to the artistic vision.
