About The Position

Milagro's Season 43: Pasando el Testigo is seeking a creative team player for a devised Dia de los Muertos Carpa show, Marigolds y Memorias, which opens on October 16th. The Costume Designer will have access to a generous costume stock, a sewing room, and a decent budget for purchases. Collaboration with the director and other designers will occur through weekly production meetings. The ideal candidate can sew in addition to designing and is knowledgeable about construction techniques for quick-change costumes. The performance period for this role is from August 26th, 2026, to November 8th, 2026, encompassing pre-production, rehearsals, technical rehearsals, load-in, and load-out.

Responsibilities

• Developing the visual concept of the production in coordination with the production Director(s)
• Developing renderings and/or drawings of costume design for the approval of designated personnel
• Coordination with designated personnel for purchases, pulling from stock, building, rentals, and organizing costumes according to the timeline set forth in the schedule
• Arranging measurement and costume fittings with appropriate staff
• Restocking, cleaning, returning borrowed or rented items within ONE WEEK of closing.
• Attendance at all production meetings and technical rehearsals.
