About The Position

This role involves assisting higher-level employees in the scheduling of Transmission field personnel and pre-determined work activities. The associate will aid in data collection, data entry, and maintaining schedules, including front-end loaded and resource-loaded schedules, to optimize maintenance and capital work plans. Responsibilities also include assisting with TFS outage requests, entering them into the iTOA/OSI system, and verifying their accuracy. The position requires becoming familiar with scheduling software and its upgrades. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well with minimal supervision, is a good communicator, and collaborates effectively with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field such as Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field
  • High school diploma, Vocational training and 4 years' utility field experience.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor Degree in a Business field, such as Accounting, Finance or Management will be accepted if they have at least 2 years of maintenance work scheduling or construction project scheduling experience or other relevant utility experience.
  • Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C, Transmission engineering, Transmission or Distribution dispatch experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience is strongly preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge with MS Office Tools and MS SharePoint.
  • Ability to read/ interpret electrical schematics
  • Some travel required, must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Become familiar with planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field such as Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management and 1 years' experience.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 3 years' utility experience.
  • High school diploma and 6 years' utility field experience.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor Degree in a Business field, such as Accounting, Finance or Management will be accepted if they have at least 6 years of maintenance work scheduling or construction project scheduling experience or other relevant utility experience.
  • Proficient with Excel, MS Office Tools, SharePoint.
  • Ability to solicit information from field employees and leadership via phone and email.
  • Talent for organizing and summarizing data.
  • Skillful in developing and /or interpreting detailed KPI, metrics, and progress reports.
  • Ability to read/ interpret electrical schematics.
  • Aptitude to understand switching, tagging and clearance points.
  • Ability to estimate resource requirements for typical TFS projects (construction and maintenance).
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field and 4 years' related experience;
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Business or related field and 5 years' related experience;
  • High School diploma/GED and 8 years' related experience.
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a Business field, such as Accounting, Finance or Management will be accepted if they have at least 8 years' of Electrical Utility maintenance work scheduling or construction project scheduling, or other relevant project controls experience.
  • Electrical Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C, Transmission engineering, Transmission or Distribution dispatch experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools and MS SharePoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret one line station diagrams and transmission line switching diagrams.
  • Fully understand switching, tagging and clearance points.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of zones of protection and AEP protection schemes.
  • Ability to estimate resource requirements for typical TFS projects (construction and maintenance).
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, have good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Strong team focus and work effectively with others.
  • Competently perform current scheduling techniques and analyses on all project/outage aspects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with IPS, IBM Cognos, Primavera, PowerBI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of fully integrated resource loaded and levelized TFS work schedules that optimize maintenance work plans, capital outage work, and other TFS work activities using Transmission approved scheduling software and tools.
  • Comply with the Outage Coordination Procedure and all RTO guidelines.
  • Participate in meetings with project, outage, construction, maintenance, operations and commissioning groups.
  • Assist with TFS outage requests, including entering outages into TOA or its successor data base.
  • Assist in organizing, coordinating and attending the supporting areas outage coordination meetings.
  • Assist higher level employees in coordinating changes to the work schedule when an outage needs to be canceled or rescheduled.
  • Assist higher level employees in the development, review, and presentation of statistical reports related to work scheduling and adherence, crew utilization, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination and participate in meetings with other sections/departments covering scheduling, staffing and outages.
  • Develop professionalism, Safety practices and positive Culture, good teamwork skills, effective communication skills, and become familiar with planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Perform all duties and work with others in a safe manner in compliance with appropriate Company safety policies and rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
