About The Position

Assist and coordinate with Transmission Field Services (TFS) management and field personnel in assigned TFS Area(s) with the interpretation and development of safe work methods and procedures, the implementation of best practices, the development and administration of capital and/or maintenance work plan, preparation of cost estimates to applicable work, contract administration, the utilization of technology, the development of streamlined documentation and reporting, the development of IT systems that will assist TFS, the identification of appropriate refresher training and new equipment training; and, assist with the facilitation of information sharing meetings. Based on discipline (Station, P&C, or Line) some duties may not be applicable.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 3 years of utility field experience; or high school diploma or GED and 5 years of related utility field experience which would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience (External Candidate for Trans Field Srvcs Coord.).
  • Utility field experience would include Transmission or Distribution Line, Station, P&C or Technical Support experience; or maintenance and/or construction work/project scheduling or project controls experience (External Candidate for Trans Field Srvcs Coord.).
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related technical field and 1 year of utility field experience (or equivalent education and work experience combination) (Internal Candidate for Trans Field Srvcs Coord.).
  • Minimum of 2 years of satisfactory work experience as a Trans Field Svcs Coord Assoc and successfully demonstrated the knowledge and skills required of Trans Field Svcs Coord (Internal Candidate for Trans Field Srvcs Coord.).

  • Competency shown in the following activities to be considered for TFS Coord position in the TFS Line functional group: Schedule work for internal & external contract crews. Assists with weekly coordination meetings. Review of invoices for local contractor work. Local support/representation on project meetings/calls. Create Purchase Requisition (PR) entries for material acquisition and verification. Generate Bill of Material lists for specific projects. Create Field Work Requests and provide PR Change Order support for local Admin. Create TFS Work Orders and manage through completion. Create rehab project work packets. Plan rental equipment for projects. Create maintenance work packets. Provides support on T/D outage requests to work scheduler. Provides TFS committee/initiative/project support Implement planned area workplan. Provide local failure project support for a single project.

Provide oversight/interface on EPC work in given area. Proficiency in rehab project selection based on existing rehab budgets, project efficiencies, and contractor selection. Manage capital/NSW budget with local supervision. Manage O&M budget with local supervision. Act as TFS Progression Testing Lead. Fills in for Exempt Supervisor as needed in assigned area. Manage specific assignments to region (grading, vegetation removal coordination, etc.). Develop workplan for entire assigned area. Provide local failure project support for multiple projects (ie. storms). Lead a committee/initiative/project.
  • Competency shown in the following activities to be considered for TFS Coord Sr position in the TFS Station functional group: Provide oversight on internal crews and external contractors in assigned area. Provide local failure project support for multiple projects (i.e. Storms). Lead a committee/initiative/project.

Responsibilities

  • Review for consistency, recommend the integration of, and implement work practices and work procedures across assigned TFS Area(s).
  • Develop and Coordinate assigned TFS area(s) capital and/or maintenance workplan within established measurable goals, objectives, and project requirements.
  • Participate in and develop into a facilitator role for inter-region and inter-company meetings to share ideas and develop uniform policies and procedures.
  • Assist/Collaborate with other TFS Coord Sr to investigate the use of new tools and equipment that can maintain safety standards while enhancing productivity and improve existing work methods and recommend their implementation.
  • Maintain assigned TFS Area(s) tool budget as well as assistance in coordination of associated training related to those tools.
  • Develop refresher training and new equipment training with TFS personnel.
  • Continuously work to advocate for and improve data collection systems for assigned TFS Area(s) based on thorough understanding of those collection systems.
  • Travel extensively through assigned TFS Area(s) to stay current with existing work practices and field issues.
  • Work across assigned TFS area(s) to perform oversight on commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of Transmission and Distribution assets.
  • Continue to develop knowledge to become a subject matter expert on Station, P&C, Transmission Line, or stormwater issues.
  • Prepare cost estimates for non-routine work, special projects, equipment maintenance projects or construction projects.
  • Lead Coordination of securing rental equipment in assigned TFS(S) Area.
  • Contract Administration in assigned TFS Area(s) including Job Planning, material Procurement, Work Authorization creation, Outage Requests.
  • Respond to support emergency work as needed in assigned TFS Area(s).
  • Assist Supervision in Progression Testing for employees in assigned TFS Area(s).
