About The Position

The Testing Center Lab Assistant is a part-time position that reports directly to the Director of Testing Services. This position is responsible for the administration of pencil/paper and online/web-based course exams for online and traditional classes. The incumbent will also assist with the scheduling and administration of a variety of testing programs, proctor services, and certification testing. The position requires at least 6 hours of work on Saturdays, with the option of working up to 19 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least 1 year of experience in a specialized or related field applicable to work performed
  • Must have the ability to work work Saturdays from 7:30am - 1:30pm
  • Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others
  • Must be a self-starter who takes accountability for performance while requiring minimal supervision
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Student Information systems, word processing programs, spreadsheets, email and other computer programs
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals and teams across the institution and campus

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience
  • At least one year of experience working at an academic testing center

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proctoring NWACC course exams, placement tests, and accommodated assessments, while also ensuring the workspace remains organized
  • Continuously monitors testers and enforces testing security procedures while administering various types of pencil/paper and computer/web-based tests for prospective and currently enrolled students
  • Obtains and maintains relevant certifications to support the administration of assessments associated with community proctoring services, including CLEP, Meazure Learning, PearsonVue, Kryterion, and PROV
  • Delivers prompt and high-quality customer service by responding to inquiries about Testing Services through phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Works as a liaison between the Testing Center and faculty while assisting students in the center
  • Assists with the reception desk as needed which includes checking in students, verifying identification, assisting students with making appointments, completing the proper paperwork for community proctoring services (Pearson, CLEP, etc)
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college
