About The Position

The Tutorverse is seeking an experienced in-person Test Prep Expert to help students in the NYC area prepare for standardized tests, primarily in Manhattan. Instructors travel to students and teach SAT and ACT content in their own style. The Tutorverse finds clients, assists with scheduling, and enforces its cancellation policy so instructors can focus on teaching.

This is a contract-based 1099 position with a flexible schedule. Instructors may accept as many or as few engagements as they choose. The starting rate for in-person instruction is $90–$100 per hour. The position does not include employee-based benefits such as paid time off or health benefits.

Requirements

• Experience helping students prepare for all sections of the SAT and ACT.
• Availability to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, primarily Manhattan.
• A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Five years of postgraduate teaching experience.
• Reliability, organization, experience, passion, and an approachable manner.

Nice To Haves

• Experience preparing students for the SHSAT, ISEE/SSAT, HSPT/TACHS, or other relevant standardized entrance exams.
• Experience helping students with academic studies, including math, English language arts, or science.
