Test Failure Analyst

ZT Systems•Secaucus, NJ

About The Position

The Test Failure Analyst drives manufacturing test yield performance through failure analysis, yield management, and cross-functional issue resolution. The role coordinates between manufacturing, test engineering, quality, firmware, hardware, and system engineering teams to ensure failures are documented, investigated, and resolved with sustainable preventive actions. The analyst owns yield performance across NPI and production programs, develops yield bridge analyses, examines test and repair data for trends and risks, and leads reviews and investigations. The role maintains failure documentation and traceability, manages a centralized failure database and knowledge repository, and reports yield, failures, and corrective actions to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders. The role also drives containment, corrective and preventive actions, verifies their effectiveness, supports factory issue triage and recovery planning, collaborates to improve test and repair processes, and communicates lessons learned for future launches and manufacturing readiness.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams through issue management and project coordination.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or other data visualization and analytics tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or exposure to process improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage manufacturing test yield performance across NPI and production programs.
  • Develop and maintain yield bridge analysis to quantify yield gains and losses and identify primary yield detractors.
  • Analyze test and repair data to identify failure trends, recurring issues, and emerging quality risks.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews to prioritize yield-impacting failures and drive timely root cause investigations.
  • Coordinate debug activities across Failure Analysis, Test, Quality, Firmware, Hardware, System Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure manufacturing test failures are documented, classified, and tracked throughout the investigation lifecycle.
  • Maintain traceability between failure symptoms, root causes, corrective actions, and yield improvements.
  • Establish and manage a centralized failure database and knowledge repository.
  • Publish regular yield, failure, and corrective action reports for engineering leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive containment plans, corrective actions, and long-term preventive measures for quality and yield issues.
  • Monitor corrective action effectiveness and verify sustained resolution of identified issues.
  • Support factory operations with rapid issue triage, escalation management, and recovery planning for critical yield events.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to improve test processes, repair procedures, and operational efficiencies.
