About The Position

Manages activities related to test engineering including staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning. Sets direction of and develops appropriate testing criteria, equipment, tools, and metrics required to make a quality product. Works across functions as required ensuring that testing is in place at all appropriate steps in the development and build process.

Requirements

Leadership skills
Familiar with test concepts, practices and procedures
Strong reasoning skills based on previous engineering experience
Thorough understanding of the market and competitive landscape
Understands the basics of managing technical people
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5+ years of experience in engineering
test engineering and leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

Organizes and coordinates various sections of test engineering.
Plans and establishes test engineering schedules and checks actual performance data against estimates.
Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary.
Manages assembly of cost control and statistical data and the development of material selection standards.
Approves process specification and design standards.
Prepares and controls departmental annual budget.
Responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications.
Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions.
Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
