Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is hiring a Manager, Manufacturing Test Engineering. This position needs a results-driven engineering leader responsible for overseeing manufacturing test engineering operations within a highly regulated medical device environment. You will lead cross-functional team in the execution of factory acceptance testing, development of standardized processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. You will act as a key interface between Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations to support new product introduction, production scalability, and cost optimization.

Requirements

  • Engineering or technical bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 7+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience managing manufacturing teams
  • Demonstrated experience owning manufacturing system processes
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP and productivity software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical engineers responsible for factory acceptance testing of complex medical devices.
  • Oversee execution of manufacturing test operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and product quality requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and standardize Manufacturing Test Engineering processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and communication protocols.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability, optimize performance, and ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test efficiency, reduce cycle time, and lower operational costs, delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, and Operations to support new product introduction (NPI), design transfer, and production readiness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA requirements) through execution and closure of Non-Conformance (NC) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Represent manufacturing test engineering in cross-functional forums focused on portfolio management, R&D prioritization, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide engineering support to capital equipment production environments, ensuring test processes meet throughput, reliability, and quality expectations.
  • Drive alignment across global manufacturing engineering teams to standardize test strategies, tooling, and methodologies.
