About The Position

The Test Engineering Manager plans, coordinates, and oversees testing activities to ensure products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project deadlines. The role defines testing strategies and quality goals and aligns test activities with business objectives and project timelines. It supervises employees in the assigned test area and is accountable for the outcomes and effective operation of the test engineering department, including its processes, equipment, tools, staffing, and training.

Requirements

• College or university degree in a relevant technical field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Analytical skills.
• Effective team-player skills.
• Ability to communicate comfortably with large groups and executives.
• Flexibility with work schedule and location.
• Good communication, presentation, verbal, managerial, logical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and manages employees within the assigned test area.
• Plans, implements, continuously improves, and coordinates processes related to existing and new products.
• Ensures efficient operation of the test environment, equipment, and tools in compliance with customer requirements.
• Designs and develops test equipment specifications.
• Designs and ensures the effective operation of test engineering processes.
• Defines headcount and training needs for efficient department operations.
• Ensures testing processes comply with quality standards and customer or other defined specifications.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates Test Engineers, Test Engineer Assistants, Shift Leaders, and Test Technicians.
• Defines the sub-processes and competence needs required for effective operations and is accountable for department outcomes.
• Proposes and implements continuous improvement solutions.
• Supports internal training programs to improve production efficiency, reduce scrap rates, and develop employees’ technical skills.
• Ensures training is provided to employees affected by new product introductions, process changes, or technology updates.
• Maintains order and cleanliness within the area of responsibility.
