About The Position

Loft Orbital is hiring a Test Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Golden, Colorado. The intern will work with the Test Engineering team on hands-on hardware and software projects that support the construction, testing, and operation of satellite systems. The role offers ownership of engineering projects from requirements through design, review, implementation, and delivery, with exposure to how hardware, software, and test systems work together in a production satellite environment. Project work may include designing a hardware system to remotely monitor satellite battery voltage through ground-support equipment; developing a graphical user interface for solar array deployment testing; writing and maintaining software for test operations and engineering workflows; and integrating hardware, software, telemetry, and test equipment into engineering tools. The intern will work from defined requirements, present designs in Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews, and document, test, and deliver completed products for continued team use. Additional opportunities may include exposure to satellite testing on the production floor, environmental testing, and spacecraft operations. The internship is full-time for 10–12 weeks during Summer 2027. Start and end dates will be coordinated based on the intern’s school schedule and team availability. The position is on-site in Golden, Colorado, and Loft offers housing or relocation support for interns traveling from outside the local area. Hourly compensation is $30.00. Daily catered lunches and office snacks are provided.
