About The Position

Loft Orbital is seeking a Test Engineering Intern to join its team in Golden, Colorado for Summer 2027. The intern will work with the Test Engineering team on hands-on hardware and software projects supporting the construction, testing, and operation of satellite systems. The internship offers ownership of engineering work from requirements through design, review, implementation, and delivery, in a production satellite environment. Projects may include designing a hardware system to remotely monitor satellite battery voltage through ground-support equipment; developing a graphical user interface for solar array deployment testing; writing and maintaining software for test operations and engineering workflows; and integrating hardware, software, telemetry, and test equipment into engineering tools. The intern will work to defined requirements, present designs through Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews, and document, test, and deliver completed products for continued team use. There may also be opportunities to observe satellite testing on the production floor, environmental testing, and other spacecraft operations. The internship is full-time for 10–12 weeks in Summer 2027, with start and end dates coordinated around the student’s school schedule and team availability. The role is on-site in Golden, Colorado.
