About The Position

CACI is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Army's signal intelligence research and development engineering team. The role contributes to RF research, experimental validation, and testing, helping develop, validate, and transition RF solutions for national security challenges. The engineer directs end-to-end test planning and execution for complex systems, including test plans, technical specifications, instrumentation setups, and integrated schedules. The role also serves as the technical authority for RF radiation hazard mitigation across experiments, demonstrations, and system-level events.

Requirements

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of previous work experience.
  • Experience as a test engineer with Radiation Hazard (RADHAZ) testing.
  • Understanding of Hazards to Electromagnetic Radiation to Personnel, Ordnance, and Fuel (HERP, HERO, and HERF).
  • Experience planning and executing laboratory and field-environment tests and demonstrations.
  • Experience planning for and managing experimental safety during experiments and test events.
  • Understanding of RF modulation types.
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable DoD and U.S. Army regulations concerning RF testing.

Nice To Haves

  • MATLAB experience.
  • Anechoic chamber experience.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation, technical specifications, and formal execution of end-to-end test plans, instrumentation setups, and integrated schedules for complex systems.
  • Assess test requirement traceability for program completeness, conduct technical analyses of complete systems, and compile evaluation reports and readiness reviews for stakeholders.
  • Serve as the technical authority for RF radiation hazard mitigation across planned experiments, demonstrations, and system-level events.
  • Lead and enforce safe operational execution concerning electromagnetic radiation hazards to personnel (HERP), ordnance (HERO), and fuel (HERF).
  • Establish, calculate, and enforce Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) safety boundaries, controlled clearance perimeters, and RF containment procedures during emissions.
  • Plan data collection and analysis methods by analyzing modulation performance, RF propagation, receiver sensitivity, and system linearity.
  • Consolidate findings into formal system-level evaluation reports that inform program milestones and technical insertions.
