About The Position

Wipro is hiring for a contract Test Engineer L2 role supporting 5G standalone and femto deployments. The role focuses on lab setup, environment readiness, system integration, test-environment provisioning, CMS readiness, coordination with infrastructure teams, and system-stability validation across releases. The engineer will contribute to Wipro’s femto and NMS team and perform security, functional, lab, and field testing. The team is distributed across Austin, Redmond, and India. The position is onsite in Bellevue, Washington.

Requirements

Experience with 5G SA/NSA (FR1/FR2), LTE, IMS, O-RAN platforms, and NMS integration.
Protocol expertise in 5G SA/NSA and LTE, including LTE, VoLTE, and 5G VoNR L2/L3 call flows.
Practical experience evaluating positioning systems using RTK, PPP, and NTRIP protocols.
Knowledge of NMEA-0183/NMEA-2000, RTCM v2.x/v3.x, RINEX, and proprietary receiver or binary formats such as u-blox UBX, NovAtel OEM, and Qualcomm QXDM logs.
Experience testing GPS simulators and GPS protocols, including Protempis Acutime smart-antenna receiver/transmitters.
Experience with GPS simulators such as Spirent GSS7000/GSS9000 and SimGEN, Rohde & Schwarz SMW200A, Keysight, Skydel, NI PXI Vector Signal Transceivers, or Protempis.
Strong knowledge of log-analysis tools such as QXDM, QCAL, ShannonDM, and ETL.
Experience testing different modules, chipsets, IoT devices, and mobile devices.
Lab-testing experience with Keysight, Spirent, Anritsu, and Rohde & Schwarz simulators in 4G and 5G environments.
Field-testing experience or knowledge for at least one operator and familiarity with associated tools.
Experience with 5G femto log analysis and 3GPP specifications.
Linux administration experience, including RHEL, ISO installation, package deployment, VM snapshot/recovery, and service restarts.
Knowledge of NBI and southbound interfaces, networking basics such as VLAN and port mapping, and system-monitoring tools.
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
Knowledge of security compliance.
Self-motivation and ability to provide daily testing updates.

Responsibilities

Set up and provision test environments and ensure lab and environment readiness.
Manage CMS readiness and provisioning, coordinate with infrastructure teams, and support NMS integration.
Perform security, functional, lab, and field testing for 5G SA and femto deployments.
Validate system stability across releases and support package deployment, service restarts, VM snapshots and recovery, and log collection.
Analyze logs and protocol traces, including PCAP and gNB traces.
Test high-accuracy positioning systems, GPS protocols, devices, modules, and chipsets.
Report daily testing status to client and internal teams.
Report bugs using tools such as JIRA and PLM.
