Test and Evaluation Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton•San Diego, CA

About The Position

The Test and Evaluation Engineer supports a multidisciplinary product team that plans, conducts, documents, and improves engineering test and evaluation activities for assigned products, systems, subsystems, support equipment, hardware assemblies, and associated technical documentation. The role works directly for the Product Owner within a SAFe Agile delivery environment. The engineer translates product objectives, user needs, system requirements, and acceptance criteria into measurable test activities and objective evidence supporting technical decisions, product increments, configuration-control decisions, and government acceptance. Responsibilities integrate engineering, testing, logistics, configuration management, fabrication, documentation, and stakeholder input to help ensure delivered capabilities are technically sound, traceable to approved requirements, supportable, and ready for operational use. The role also evaluates software developed for the Department of Navy by creating test plans and test cases based on user stories, generating data, and executing tests through automated and manual processes. The engineer observes software performance, documents results, communicates defects to developers, automates continuous security and performance testing, and monitors the health of a Navy system. The position offers the opportunity to write code for testing and contribute testing expertise within a team developing software solutions to secure defense networks.
