About The Position

Join GDIT’s mission-driven team supporting the Department of Defense as we help unify the Air Force’s cyber defense to outpace threats with shared insight, faster decisions, and stronger mission protection. This Lead Test Engineering role governs the Enterprise Test Framework and independent verification activities across all pipelines and platforms. The Test Engineer, in conjunction with the Government, develops, governs, and enforces an overarching Enterprise Test Framework to standardize testing methodologies and quality assurance blueprints across all Task Order repositories, defining and mandating a unified, modern software testing approach (e.g., BDD or TDD) that serves as the authoritative standard for all execution teams. The role conducts independent, multi-faceted penetration tests on platform engineering and applications, including emulation of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). It also conducts independent reviews of all source code utilizing government-furnished tools (e.g., Fortify) for deep codebase analysis before staging deployment (Static Application Security Testing). The engineer provides formal "Go/No-Go" release recommendations to the PMO based on objective test results. Technical acumen required: Deep knowledge of BDD/TDD testing methodologies, SAST/DAST tooling (Fortify, Syft, Grype), penetration testing/adversary emulation, and CI/CD pipeline auditing. Must understand testing security boundaries, data flows, and firewalls between Dev/Test networks, the System Integration Lab (SIL), and operational production networks to prevent data spillage (Cross-Domain Validation), and auditing automated security gates and scans within the CI/CD pipeline to ensure they are properly configured and effectively identifying vulnerabilities (Pipeline Auditing). Daily SCIF access supports hands-on penetration testing and classified test result evaluation. This role directly delivers the win theme of enforced test standards and RMF/ICAM/Zero Trust compliance through independent security testing and pipeline auditing before releases reach production.
