About The Position

The Territory Sales Representative represents and acts as the “Face of Lyons” providing the highest level of customer service to our retail and foodservice customers. The role is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and growing existing accounts; while also, identifying, opening, and managing new business development within your territory to achieve and exceed revenue, profitability goals and complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years professional and successful experience in outside sales and customer service at the distribution or retail level.
  • In-store direct delivery / customer contact in Consumer Package Goods Sales preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and sales software.
  • Disciplined work ethic and self-motivated to have sound methods for follow-up and work independently of direct supervision and as part of a team.
  • Must reside and able to travel within the assigned territory - Greenville, MS and surrounding areas
  • Enthusiastic and driven to prospect (cold call) for new business, build customer rapport and close the sale.
  • Fast-paced and multi-faceted, requiring a broad skillset of sales, merchandising, order replenishment, marketing, problem solving, time management and customer service.
  • Interact effectively with all levels of management and employees through communication in-person, over-the-phone, and in-writing.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills to adjust sales strategies.
  • Applicable candidates will be required to submit authorization and successfully complete Pre-Employment Screening: Criminal Background Investigation. Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License. Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Test.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Lyons in a professional manner providing friendly service through direct communication and in-store customer support.
  • Build and foster strong customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain profitable partnerships for both the company and customer.
  • Regularly call, visit, and work with existing and new customers within territory to provide analysis of current and potential capabilities that support customer growth.
  • Communicate and educates customers on products, services, programs, credit terms, sales analysis reports and promotional strategies available through Lyons Specialty Co.
  • Ensures customers are provided with all the tools and training needed to properly place orders in a timely and consistently.
  • Maintain knowledge of company core product lists, plan-o-gram compliance, and discontinued, inactive, and replacement items. Remain current with industry trends, supply chain availability, and company offerings.
  • Prospects and grows sales through establishing new accounts and increasing sales to existing customer base to meet and/or exceed company gross profit objectives.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with the accounting department and customers to ensure all balances are current and credit terms are being met.
  • Promotion, preparation, and attendance at company tradeshows, partnership conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Participate in and attend mandatory sales meetings: bi-weekly (virtually) and monthly (in-person)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
