About The Position

Alta Material Handling is seeking a full-time Territory Sales Representative for the North Shore area, reporting to our Dorval, QC branch. The Territory Sales Manager has a crucial role of driving sales growth and expanding the company's market presence within your assigned territory. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: Sales Development, Territory Management, Customer Relationship Management, Sales Forecasting and Reporting, Team Collaboration, Personal Training and Development, Market Awareness, Travel, and Continuous Improvement.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar equipment sales role dealing with business decision makers in the market
  • Verifiable track record of achieving revenue targets
  • Experience managing a high volume of accounts
  • A driven, hardworking Sales Representative who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and places customers first
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • A University or College Education preferred but not mandatory
  • Sales and Account Management training is an asset
  • High aptitude for the position with a continual focus on investing in one’s profession through additional training and learning

Responsibilities

  • Achieve company sales targets and objectives by offering a full range of Material Handling solutions.
  • Manage all aspects of your assigned territory, including cold calling and prospecting for new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service, understanding their needs, and offering solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Provide regular sales performance reports to management on sales activities, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure a coordinated approach to sales and customer support within your territory.
  • Engage in self-improvement and continual training to ensure the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively sell company's products or services.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends within your territory to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust sales strategies and tactics as needed.
  • Travel within your territory (min. 3 days/ week) to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and participate in industry events as required.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve sales performance and efficiency within your territory, which may involve implementing new sales tools or techniques, providing feedback to management on product or service offerings, and participating in professional development activities.
