About The Position

We're seeking a Territory Sales Lead to drive growth in your assigned territory through a balanced approach of direct customer sales and channel partner development. In this role, you'll build relationships with both end-users and channel partners (distributors and well contractors), managing complex sales cycles and creating a sustainable revenue pipeline within your region. Startup DNA Required: This is not your typical sales role. As an early employee at Resource Monitor, you'll join a fast-moving startup at a pivotal moment. We're looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and is energized by building something from scratch. You'll wear multiple hats, work directly with founders, and significantly influence the company trajectory. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset - someone willing to trade the certainty of an established company for the potential of outsized equity returns and the chance to shape an industry. This isn't your role if you're looking for structured processes, established playbooks, or a traditional corporate hierarchy. Requirements

  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience in a relevant industry (water management, agriculture, IoT, etc.)
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building customer relationships
  • Experience with both direct sales and channel partner management
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Ability to understand technical products and communicate their value effectively
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within your assigned region (approximately 30-50%)
  • High degree of technology adoption and comfort, and experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • Based in Texas (sorry, we cannot relocate you)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in water management, agriculture, energy, or utility sectors
  • Background in selling hardware/IoT solutions with recurring software components
  • Familiarity with the well drilling/servicing industry
  • History of successfully developing new territories

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory sales strategies targeting both direct customers and channel partners
  • Prospect and close direct sales opportunities with end-users across target industries
  • Recruit, train, and manage relationships with distributors and well contractors in your territory
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand customers' water management goals, pain points, and decision-making processes
  • Present customized solutions based on customer needs, highlighting benefits and ROI
  • Negotiate terms and secure buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas and key performance indicators
  • Represent Resource Monitor at regional industry events and trade shows
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform product development
