About The Position

We are looking for a self-starting, motivated person who excels at building relationships, enjoys sales, and marketing, and provides excellent customer service. If you have skills in marketing, management, budgeting, event planning, sales, fundraising, and customer service, and are comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences, you should consider taking the opportunity to become a professional Scouter. A self-motivated individual with solid time-management skills and strong organizational skills will be successful in this role. District Executives are a diverse group, sharing a dynamic career offering independence, achievement, and stability. The District Executive manages a designated territory (called a district) consisting of multiple counties or population centers within the Greater St. Louis Area Council’s 63 counties. We are looking for someone to take ownership of growing the district in the key areas of finance, membership, and volunteer development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • US work authorization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Attained 21 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law
  • Must currently live, or be willing to relocate to, the boundaries of the service area
  • Ability to work varied hours when necessary, evening activities and weekend work is frequently required to achieve positive objectives
  • Accept and meet Scouting America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law

Nice To Haves

  • Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
  • A Scouting background is helpful but not required for employment
  • Non-profit, fundraising, sales, or marketing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated territory (called a district) consisting of multiple counties or population centers.
  • Take ownership of growing the district in the key areas of finance, membership, and volunteer development.
  • Build relationships, engage in sales and marketing, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Utilize skills in marketing, management, budgeting, event planning, sales, fundraising, and customer service.
  • Engage in public speaking and interact with diverse audiences.
  • Work with adult volunteers, community and business leaders, and representatives of other organizations.
  • Travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks.
  • Lift 20 pounds regularly.
