About The Position

Innovative IDM, a premier Industrial Automation and Motion Controls Distributor, is seeking an experienced Territory Manager with a strong technical background and a passion for sales. The ideal candidate will have experience with PLCs, HMIs, Servo systems, and automation products like timers and switches, as well as experience in applying and sizing VFDs and process controls. This role involves driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing accounts across various manufacturing sectors, including food processing and machinery manufacturing. The company differentiates itself by deeply understanding customer products and processes to provide effective solutions that enhance productivity and reduce inefficiencies, rather than just selling products.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in industrial automation systems and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with CRM
  • Experience with MS office products

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in sales or business development in technical industry preferred
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and Servo systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application of automation products such as timers, switches, temperature controllers
  • Experience or a background in applying and sizing VFDs and process controls

Responsibilities

  • Find, develop, and maintain relationships with customers
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth
  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers
  • Weekly phone work to setup face-to-face appointments
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers
  • Joint sales calls with vendor reps
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions
