About The Position

Summit Spirits & Wine is a state-wide wholesale distribution company focused on building and expanding relationships with suppliers and customers for the distribution and sales of Spirits, Beer, Wine, and Non-Alcoholic beverages. The Territory Manager - Off Premise is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, executing industry and company standards, and achieving sales objectives. This role involves territory management, selling the current portfolio and introducing new products, supporting trade promotions, and managing all accounts within the territory. Key activities include merchandising, shelf placement, maintaining cold boxes, building displays, and stocking inventories.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • The position requires the use of a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience preferred.
  • An understanding of wine, beer, and spirits is highly preferred.
  • Individuals with strong computer, customer service and interpersonal expertise preferred.
  • Results-oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills; uses diplomacy and discretion.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with assigned territory is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build/maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Achieve/exceed company defined sales objectives.
  • Manage territory effectively.
  • Sell current portfolio and introduce emerging and innovative products.
  • Attend and support trade promotions.
  • Manage every account within the territory to company expectations.
  • Perform merchandising activities such as shelf placement, maintaining cold boxes, building displays, and stocking inventories.
  • Daily review of strategies/pre-plans to achieve sales and merchandising objectives.
  • Call on all accounts within the territory per management expectations and cover daily routes by creating an established and efficient routing pattern.
  • Analyze entire account base by visiting each account and identifying opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to customers.
  • Understand and work with management on inventory levels, being aware of current inventory and out of stock situations, and alerting management to possible fluctuations in demand.
  • Ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account standards and using effective point of sale materials.
  • Maintain product levels in accounts by taking inventory and restocking shelves.
  • Obtain payments for the company by collecting and delivering checks or other remittance from accounts where legally permissible.
  • Educate account staff on priority brands by administering educational staff training seminars.
  • Service accounts by delivering products to customers in extenuating circumstances, handling customer issues and complaints and referring these issues to management.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all suppliers by participating in effective supplier work with sales calls.
  • Remain informed of company/supplier activities and updates by attending and actively participating in sales meetings.
  • Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
