About The Position

This mid-manager role will support the Grade Level 30 manager in Business Customer Solutions (BCS) Large New Business. The role title is a Territory Manager for the Large New Business area within BCS and will have MAST Grade Level 26-27 direct reports, whose responsibilities include New Business Project Initiation (project values can range from $1M to $20M) and Point of Contact for Divisions, Districts, Developers and new businesses. This management position will require internal coordination and collaboration with the various Customer Care business areas, Electric Ops and Gas Ops, Renewables and Energy Solutions, Utility Finance and Asset Management among other areas. Additionally, this role will be externally facing with our largest and most influential customers, developers (i.e. K. Hovnanian, Ryan Homes, Vericon), and industry groups (i.e. NJ Builders Association, Choose NJ) in PSE&G's service territory.

Requirements

  • BS/BA plus 7 years of work experience or, in lieu of a degree, 10 years of related business experience.
  • Greater than seven years of experience in utility operations, generation and/or engineering.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and safe driving history.
  • Knowledge of Industrial and Commercial account management experience, including regulatory and tariff knowledge.
  • Must have strong leadership qualities and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to self-direct and work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and Salesforce.
  • Certified Energy Manager Qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop MAST associates ranging from Grade Levels 26 and 27 including performance ratings, development discussions and leadership development.
  • Ensure the success of performance metrics relative to the organization (i.e. 24ET response times, program participation, developer meetings and achievement of capital & O&M targets).
  • Resolve escalated customer/developer issues/concerns.
  • Serve as backup to Grade Level 30 manager. Develop and implement strategy for business area as well as strategic initiatives annually. Support daily activities related to budgeting, planning, personnel and Human Resource issues.
  • Maintain internal relationships with operating departments to effectively advocate for customers as a trusted energy advisor and leader.
  • Evaluate process effectiveness and develop and manage solutions. Lead process improvement initiatives and coordination with vendors supporting these efforts.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management for project governance, utility finance for capital planning, Customer advisory team for large customer project coordination, etc.
