This role involves daily operational duties including manual loading and unloading of various transport methods (tank-cars, tank-trucks, ocean-going vessels), tank-to-tank transfers, and blending operations. The operator will monitor product quality, manually operate valves and pumps, and manage tank fill lines. Responsibilities include checking tank storage capacity using manual gauging or automated systems, calculating and monitoring storage capacity, and installing/removing equipment like man-ways, blind-flanges, hoses, pipes, and pumps. Accurate and timely input of product transfer activities and reports is essential. The operator will visually inspect tanks, pumping and receiving equipment, and loading racks to identify operational problems and complete associated shift documentation. They will monitor self-loading rack operations, train and qualify drivers on terminal equipment, and weigh or meter tank-trucks, ensuring accurate paperwork. Troubleshooting of loading racks, pumps, and motors is required, along with timely communication of any equipment abnormalities, failures, or quality issues to management. Additional duties include painting, weed control, landscaping, and general housekeeping. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining personal safety, company assets, employees, and the general public. Participation in special projects and assignments as requested by management is also expected.
