About The Position

The Terminal Operator operates equipment to load and unload cement; takes and tracks orders; tracks and reports inventory; and performs equipment maintenance. The role also includes keeping the terminal and associated buildings clean, following safety procedures, and communicating professionally with coworkers and customers. Successful candidates must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA registration or clearance and ongoing alcohol and drug testing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Computer skills, including Excel, Word, SAP, and HMI systems.
Mechanical knowledge, including experience with oil changes, equipment inspections, belt alignments, and preventive maintenance inspections.
Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Load and unload cement safely and efficiently using a rail car mover, front end loader, and computer equipment.
Accurately and courteously take customer orders over the phone.
Manually track inventory and provide reports as required.
Perform preventive and regular equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate records.
Help keep the terminal and associated buildings clean.
Follow CalPortland and WorkSafe safety rules and procedures.
Complete daily checks on all tickets received and shipped.
Communicate professionally and effectively with coworkers, customers, and others while performing the job.
Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
