About The Position

Universal Intermodal Services is seeking a forward-thinking, highly motivated Terminal Manager for its terminal in Secaucus, New Jersey. The role supports the company's intermodal transportation and logistics operations, including drayage, container yard management, maintenance and repair, domestic container, and intermodal flatbed services. The position involves managing terminal staff and operations in a fast-paced environment while supporting consistent service and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

At least 3 years of management experience in an intermodal or drayage environment.
Knowledge of customs and international shipping regulations.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and AS400.
Problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to delegate and enforce company policy.
Energetic, competitive, and career-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Directly manage staff, including supervisory, clerical, and labor personnel.
Recruit company drivers.
Manage dispatch orders and moves.
Manage internal operating policies and procedures.
Interact with customers daily and ensure customer satisfaction.
Conduct monthly profit and loss reviews.
Prepare or oversee reports on production, quality, timeliness, staffing, billing, and discrepancies.
