About The Position
Universal Intermodal Services is seeking a forward-thinking, highly motivated Terminal Manager for its Rancho Dominguez, California terminal. The role is in a fast-paced environment and supports the company’s intermodal operations, which include drayage, container yard management, maintenance and repair, domestic container, and intermodal flatbed services. The Terminal Manager oversees terminal staff and operations, works with customers, and helps ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of management experience in an intermodal or drayage environment.
- Knowledge of customs and international shipping regulations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and AS400.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to delegate and enforce company policy.
- Energetic, competitive, career-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage staff, including supervisory, clerical, and labor personnel.
- Recruit company drivers.
- Manage dispatch orders and moves.
- Manage internal operating policies and procedures.
- Interact with customers daily and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Review monthly profit and loss (P&L).
- Prepare and manage reports on production, quality, timeliness, staffing, billing, and discrepancies.
