About The Position
This posting is for a Term Substitute Teacher position within the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE). The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to deliver the public school program with a focus on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and serves about 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The jurisdiction covers the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions may be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so. This position is a term substitute role with specific worksites at Pleasant Bay School (Home School) and CB Highlands Edu Centre Academ.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
