About The Position

This is a term position for a Grade 2-3 Integrated Language Arts and Integrated Math teacher at the CB Highlands Education Centre. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties.

Requirements

• Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
• Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
• Excellent classroom and student management skills.
• Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
• Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning is a requirement.
• Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
• Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver integrated Language Arts and Integrated Math instruction for Grade 2-3 students.
• Participate in New Teacher training if hired or recalled into a new position and have not already done so.
