About The Position

The Department of Finance in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a part-time term faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Finance beginning in Spring semester, January 2027. The anticipated course load is one course per semester. Instruction will be primarily in person on the Ames campus, with the possibility of some online course delivery. The faculty member will also contribute to departmental service activities. The initial appointment is for one year, ending December 31, 2027, with the possibility of renewal. The position requires ongoing U.S. work authorization; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

Master’s degree.
Meet the college’s standards to be qualified under AACSB accreditation standards.
Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Professional credentials in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Finance, such as Fellow in the Society of Actuaries or CFA.
Professional industry experience, such as in financial services or corporate finance.
Prior collegiate teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Finance, with an anticipated load of one course per semester.
Contribute to departmental service activities.
