About The Position
The School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) at DePaul University is seeking a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track Professional Lecturer for a position in Screenwriting, specifically focusing on Television Writing. SCA provides Screenwriting and Showrunning concentrations for its BFA students and an MFA in Screenwriting with standard and comedy concentrations for graduate students. Located in Chicago's Loop and Lincoln Park, SCA was ranked 10th by The Hollywood Reporter among top film schools. The school serves over 2,000 students across various degree programs and boasts extensive production resources, including multiple sound stages, virtual production capabilities, and industry-standard equipment.
Requirements
- Record of professional practice and/or creative activity in writing for television
- Ability to teach theoretical and practical hands-on courses
- Industry and/or academic experience
- Motivation to work with faculty and students on building curriculum, leading school-wide initiatives, and/or participating on collaborative projects
Nice To Haves
- MFA degree or equivalent industry experience in writing for television
- Exemplary communication and collaboration skills
- Post-secondary teaching experience
