About The Position

Furman University's Psychology Department is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in social or social cognitive psychology, demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching, and be dedicated to conducting high-quality research involving undergraduate collaborators. A Ph.D. in Psychology is required by the start date of August 1, 2027. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and well-resourced department, teaching courses such as stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination, introductory psychology, and research methods and statistics. Opportunities may also exist to teach first-year writing seminars. The teaching load is five courses annually, spread across two semesters. Faculty are expected to mentor undergraduate students in research throughout the academic year and summer. The university offers competitive start-up funds, research space, and summer support. Responsibilities

Teach courses in stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination.
