About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh School of Business is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in the Organizations and Entrepreneurship (O&E) Area, starting as early as Fall 2026. The position focuses on macro-organizational behavior and organizational theory. Candidates with backgrounds in OB, OT, HR, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate will possess a research portfolio and ongoing interests that include health sciences research. The School of Business offers strong masters, undergraduate, and executive education programs, with its MBA and undergraduate programs consistently ranked among the top 25 U.S. public programs. The PhD program is well-regarded, and the university has a strong research profile with over $1 billion in annual research expenditures. The O&E Area is integral to Pitt Business's strategic plan, aligning faculty research and centers with the university's "Paths to Distinction" in health sciences, digital transformation, and societal impact. O&E faculty are active in external academic roles and hold editorial positions in leading management journals.

Requirements

• Completed PhD prior to joining the faculty.
• Strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research in organizational behavior and organizational theory.
• Background in OB, OT, HR, or other related disciplines.
• Research portfolio and ongoing interests that include health sciences research.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Submission of a letter of interest detailing fit with the position.
• Submission of a resume.
• Submission of sample research paper(s).
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Three letters of reference.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scholarly research in the organizational behavior and organizational theory arenas.
