About The Position

The School of Graduate Studies in the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and expertise in aviation operations, air transportation systems, and machine learning/AI. The School of Graduate Studies offers a diverse range of programs, including an MS in Aviation with specializations in Aviation Safety, Uncrewed Systems, and Space Operations, an MS in Occupational Safety Management, an MS in Uncrewed Systems, and an MS in Space Operations. Additionally, it provides an online Ph.D. in Aviation with specializations in Aviation Safety, Aviation Human Factors, Aviation Operations, and Intradisciplinary studies. This faculty position is located on the Daytona Beach campus and requires the ability to teach courses at both doctoral and master's levels, as well as chair Ph.D. dissertation and/or master's thesis committees. Requirements

• A doctorate and relevant experience in aviation operations, air transportation, or related areas

• Ph.D. in a closely related field
• Teaching and research experience in aviation operations, air transportation, and machine learning/AI in aviation

Responsibilities

• Teach courses at both the doctoral and master's levels
• Chair Ph.D. dissertation and/or master's thesis committees
• Meet ongoing scholarly growth requirements, which include publishing scholarly work
• Actively pursue and obtain externally funded research
• Present work at professional conferences
• Fulfill service responsibilities to the university and the profession
• Provide instruction in both traditional classroom formats and online formats as appropriate
