About The Position

The Tennis Shop Clerk is responsible for managing court reservations, providing information to players, handling telephone inquiries, checking players in, collecting fees, and processing payments using a computer application and POS system. This role also involves assisting with merchandise display, performing daily inventory counts, and aiding in the preparation of tennis programs and tournaments. The clerk will assist customers in selecting merchandise, stay informed about special events, and maintain communication with Ritz-Carlton Concierge and Member Concierge. Additionally, the position involves managing messages and calendars for tennis professionals, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the tennis shop, restocking supplies, and supporting Tennis Professionals and other Tennis staff with their daily duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and public relations skills required.
  • Must be able to greet public in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
  • Tennis knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes court reservation times as needed under club rules.
  • Maintains up-to-date miscellaneous information regarding play, etc. to provide to players as they check in.
  • Answers tennis shop telephone(s).
  • Checks players in and collects fees.
  • Processes charges using computer application and POS system.
  • Assists with displaying tennis shop merchandise.
  • Performs daily inventory count.
  • Assists in preparation of tennis programs and tournaments.
  • Assists customers in selection of merchandise.
  • Keeps up with special events (tennis tournaments, etc.).
  • Maintains a direct communication with the Ritz-Carlton Concierge and Member Concierge.
  • Manages messages and calendars for tennis professionals.
  • Cleans and straightens tennis shop as needed.
  • Restocks supplies, as needed.
  • Assists Tennis Professionals in every day duties.
  • Assists other Tennis staff, as needed.
  • Performs job responsibilities according to the company safety and training programs.
  • Reports safety or hazard concerns to management.
  • Reports any on the job injury to management.
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety every day.
